CHRISTINA'S 2009 UPDATE!

My, how time flies... and how things change :-) Hope you all are doing well!

I still get asked, "WHEN WILL YOU BE OPENING YOUR SALON/SPA?" My day spa plans have been delayed due to non-payment by the company I sold my salon to, THE TAN FACTORY. They filed the B-WORD... BANKRUPTCY (Chapter 11, so they pretty much stay open, reorganize, and all the creditors they owe may never get paid). I apologize to any of you who paid for a membership there after I sold it. I honestly thought I left you all in good hands. Please be sure to do your homework and research any tanning salon you plan to invest your money in, and be sure they are a reputable and financially stable company. You can search google to see if any of them have filed bankruptcy or have any complaints on them.

Well... I've never been one to cry over spilt milk, even if it's a $xxx,xxx glass of milk! Lol! But I thank GOD every single day that I had a back-up "hobby-turned-business." What began as a means of "killing time" and making some fun money while awaiting on the rest of the payments for my salon, has turned into a FUN and extremely lucrative business for me. I get paid to shop (every girl's dream :-). I have been VERY busy and hard at work these past few years, rebuilding my nest egg. I've poured my heart & soul, all my time, and every single penny I've made into this new business, and am finally going to "allow" myself to enjoy the fruits of my labor and treat myself to some BIG THINGS in 2010. I deserve it! :-)

I really wish I could say that I will be building my new day spa as promised... however, I'm quite torn, as I am enjoying the perks of my new business much more than owning/running a salon. Besides that, my heart is with a non-profit that I will be starting, in addition to another business that will compliment the non-profit that I'm also working on (can't say what it is, as I will be the first to ever do it!). As for my current business, it gives me the financial freedom and flexibility needed to be able to volunteer my time to causes near and dear to my heart, and to truly do something that I will be passionate about for the rest of my life (while I still get paid to shop...lol!). So I am on the fence with the day spa plans. I just can't see myself working those long hours again. I'll keep you all posted here at my website!

My next plan in expanding my business will be to build a warehouse with a showroom in about a year. You'll be able to visit the showroom and purchase directly at that time.
